“Forrest Gump” Is 30! All About Tom Hanks and Robin Wright's Bond as They Team Up for a New Movie

“Forrest Gump” Is 30! All About Tom Hanks and Robin Wright's Bond as They Team Up for a New Movie

“Forrest Gump” Is 30! All About Tom Hanks and Robin Wright's Bond as They Team Up for a New Movie, The costars reunite in 'Here,' a new movie from their 'Forrest Gump' director Robert Zemeckis.

Three decades later, Forrest Gump's Tom Hanks and Robin Wright are still like peas and carrots.

The Robert Zemeckis-directed drama remains a staple in must-see movie lists as it marks its 30th anniversary on July 6, with its two main stars teaming up once again for the upcoming movie Here.

Adapted from the 1986 novel of the same name by Winston Groom and written by Eric Roth, Forrest Gump follows the titular Forrest (played by Hanks, now 67) from his childhood in Alabama to adulthood around the country and even the globe.

Struggling with developmental delays and a challenging home and school life, Forrest meets the troubled Jenny Curran (played by Wright, now 58), from whom he learns valuable life lessons about love, both platonic and romantic.

While they prepare to star opposite one another again in Zemeckis' Here, read on about Hanks and Wright's onscreen bond as Forrest Gump — which also starred Sally Field, Gary Sinise, Mykelti Williamson and Haley Joel Osment

In February, Wright said during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that she was confident about her Forrest Gump audition, and was seven or eight months pregnant with her second child, son Hopper, at the time.

"I just felt like 'Mom' and I felt grounded, and Tom and I just had a great connection," recalled the actress, who was nominated for a Golden Globe and SAG Award for her role as Jenny.

"I walked out [of the audition], and then I went, 'Not only do I really wanna do this movie, I hope I get it. I think I got it,' " Wright added.

The House of Cards alum also praised the "hysterical" Hanks during a March interview with Drew Barrymore, recalling his hijinks as they prepared to film the scene where Forrest and Jenny get married.

"Bob says, 'I want you guys to just dance,' " Wright recalled of the director's instructions, about how he wanted her and Hanks to set the tone for the scene.

After she asked Hanks to give her an "example" of how Forrest would dance, Wright told Barrymore, 49, "I laughed so hard I peed in my costume."

The onscreen chemistry between Hanks and Wright is still going strong three decades later, as they are uniting once again under the direction of Zemeckis, 72, for the upcoming drama Here.

Based on the graphic novel of the same name by Richard McGuire, Here is about "multiple families and a special place they inhabit," according to a synopsis.

"The story travels through generations, capturing the human experience in its purest form," adds the description, which also calls the movie a "tale of love, loss, laughter and life, all of which happen right Here."Tom Hanks Says He Paid for Some Forrest Gump Scenes Himself — Including the Famous Run

Hanks and Wright play their characters at various different stages in life. As Zemeckis told Vanity Fair of their transformations, “It only works because the performances are so good."

"Both Tom and Robin understood instantly that, okay, we have to go back and channel what we were like 50 years ago or 40 years ago, and we have to bring that energy, that kind of posture, and even raise our voices higher. That kind of thing," he continued.

Of working with Hanks, Zemeckis and Roth again on Here, Wright said during a chat for DigitalSpy's This Morning in March, "The whole band got back together."

"It was incredible, reuniting 30 years later — it was like no time had passed," she added. "There was nothing awkward about it."

Forrest Gump is now streaming on Paramount+. Here is in theaters Nov. 15.

Cause of Death Revealed for ‘Love & Marriage: Huntsville’ Star Keke Jabbar

Cause of Death Revealed for ‘Love & Marriage: Huntsville’ Star Keke Jabbar

Cause of Death Revealed for ‘Love & Marriage: Huntsville’ Star Keke Jabbar, *“Love & Marriage: Huntsville” fans were shocked to learn about the sudden passing of Keke Jabbar at age 42 this week. The cause of death was initially unknown, but JoAnn Jenkins, a YouTuber and close friend of the Jabbar family, has shared more insight into her untimely death.

As IceCream Convos reports, in a recent livestream, Jenkins said, “Keke did not overdose, Keke did not take her own life. Keke loved life. Keke was not ready to leave life. She wasn’t ready to leave her children, her husband or her family.”

Jenkins seemed to imply that KeKe died from carbon monoxide poisoning.

“Last night, she turned her car off and she fell asleep,” Jenkins explained. “Her car was not functioning [and there] was something already wrong with her car.” According to Jenkins’s comments, it seems likely that KeKe returned home, parked her car, and inadvertently fell asleep with the engine running and the garage door closed. The malfunction in her vehicle appears to have tragically resulted in her death.

“So, seven-something this morning, her husband goes to the garage. He sees Keke, what he thinks is asleep in the car. He tries to get her attention. He opens [the car] up. She isn’t breathing. Her husband, her life partner, her best friend tried to bring his wife back, the mother of his children, and he couldn’t,” said Jenkins.

“Keke passed from carbon monoxide poisoning. That’s it. That is all,” she added.

Jenkins stressed that KeKe had no intention of ending her own life.“My sister didn’t want to leave this Earth, she didn’t want to leave her kids. She didn’t want to leave her husband,” she continued. “There was no turmoil going on in her life. She had a lot of great things to look forward to.”Earlier this week, Jabbar’s family confirmed her passing in a statement shared on July 2 (Tuesday), read by YouTuber Marcella Speaks.

“It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Keke. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded in love,” Speaks said during a YouTube livestream

“She was a mom, a sister, and a great friend, full of life, love, and laughter. She will surely be missed. At this time, we are asking for respect and privacy in our moment of grief while we process this great loss,” Speaks continued.

Born in Rio de Janeiro on June 2, 1979, Baccarin remains a hot topic not just because she continues to work tirelessly on television, but also because we know she'll reprise one of her most beloved roles in recent years: Vanessa in the third installment of 'Deadpool.'

'Fast Charlie:' her latest movie

By the way, she has several more projects in the works. Among them, her latest film, 'Fast Charlie' (2023), an action thriller about mobsters directed by Philip Noyce and starring alongside Pierce Brosnan and James Cann.

Keep an eye on what's about to drop...

But there are a few more titles to look out for where she's already working... 'Elevation,' where she'll appear alongside Anthony Mackie and Maddie Hasson; 'Tropico,' with Pedro Pascal and Willem Dafoe; 'Greenland: Migration,' starring alongside Gerard Butler; and 'Beast,' which is currently only known by its name among the cast.

The voice of Gideon... and other voiceovers

Meanwhile, among her most recent works are voiceovers in the video game 'Destiny 2: The Witch Queen,' where she voiced Sagira, and notably in the series 'The Flash,' where she has been the voice of Gideon, the artificial intelligence assistant to Harrison Wells, since 2014. Voice acting is a role she's no stranger to in her career.

'The Endgame:' a failed series

One of her other roles was starring in the series 'The Endgame' (2022), where she played Elena Fedorova, the mastermind behind a series of bank heists in New York under the direction of Justin Lin. This NBC crime drama was canceled after its first season and 10 episodes.

Back to her beginnings

Now, et's take a look back to remember Morena Baccarin's career up to now. The actress made her debut in 2001 in the movie 'Perfume' (2001), where she played Monica alongside big names like Paul Sorvino and Jeff Goldblum. It's an underrated hit. And fun fact: all of its dialogue was improvised by the actors!

Films, theater and then her big break with 'Firefly'

A couple more appearances in the relatively unknown 'Way of Broadway' (2001) and 'Roger Dodger' (2002) and her work in theater alongside Natalie Portman in Mike Nichols' adaptation of Anton Chekhov's 'The Seagull' would earn her a spot on the cast of the series 'Firefly,' which ultimately would be the springboard for making a name for herself in the acting world.

Playing Inara Serra was a turning point in her career

In 'Firefly,' she played the role of Inara Serra, a high-society courtesan licensed by the 'Alliance' who travels with the crew of the Serenity. We could see her in this character across 14 episodes between 2002 and 2003. Since then, the name Morena Baccarin began to resonate strongly in the industry...

Some TV from the early '00s

Throughout the first decade of the 2000s, she made appearances in numerous series, with significant roles in some like 'The O.C.' (2006), where she was Maya Griffin in 3 episodes; 'Stargate SG-1,' playing the adult version of the character Adria in 5 episodes between 2006 and 2007; or in 'Heartland' (2007), as nurse Jessica Kivala in 9 episodes.

Alien queen

The second major role of her career came in 2009, courtesy of Scott Peters, who cast her as Anna in the new version of the 80s alien series 'V.' Baccarin embodied the leader and queen of the "visitors," charismatic, sweet, calm... and adept at getting others to do whatever she wants.

From 'V' to 'Homeland'

In 'V,' Morena Baccarin starred across the series' 22 episodes over two seasons, beginning to cement herself as one of the most recognizable faces in American television. She took a significant step forward in 2011 with 'Homeland.'

Helping skyrocket her fame even more

'Homeland' is probably the series that has brought Morena Baccarin the most popularity. There, she played Jessica Brody, the wife of Nicholas (Damian Lewis) and mother to Dana (Morgan Saylor) and Chris (Jackson Pace), appearing in no fewer than 36 episodes between 2011 and 2013.

From high school to set mates

Interestingly, in 'Homeland,' Morena Baccarin was reunited with a former high school classmate... none other than the series' lead, Claire Danes, with whom she shared classes at the New York City Lab School for Collaborative Studies.

Juggling roles in other series

During those years, she also balanced her work on 'Homeland' with the role of Isobel Swift in a couple of episodes of 'The Good Wife' (2012-2013), starring Julianna Margulies, and as Erica Flynn in 'The Mentalist' (2011-2014), alongside Simon Baker.

The leap to the big screen

Up to that point, her appearances on the big screen had been sporadic, mostly working in made-for-TV movies. However, her roles first in 2015 in 'Spy' as Karen Walker, and then in 2016 and 2018 with 'Deadpool' and 'Deadpool 2' as Vanessa, the antihero's girlfriend, also gave her more visibility in the cinematic realm.

'Deadpool': A yes to Marvel on their second approach

With 'Deadpool,' Morena Baccarin finally agreed to work for Marvel Studios, after previously turning down the offer to play Maria Hill, Nick Fury's (Samuel L. Jackson) right hand, in 'The Avengers' (2012), a role that ultimately went to Cobie Smulders, according to an interview with her on Michael Rosembaum's 'Inside of You' podcast.

'Gotham': Her longest-running series

But Morena Baccarin is an actress made for TV dramas, a fact she continued to prove in the following years, especially with her work on 'Gotham,' the longest-running series of her career. There, she stepped into the shoes of Dr. Leslie Thompkins for 82 episodes between 2015 and 2019.

Leslie Thompkins

The character of Thompkins is known for her love-hate relationship, with a happy ending, with the series' protagonist, Jim Gordon (Benjamin McKenzie), in her role as a medical examiner for the Gotham police and, as leader of the Narrows alongside Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith), with whom she has a toxic romance

Love, from fiction to reality

'Gotham' also marked a turning point in the actress's personal life, as after five years of marriage to producer and director Austin Chick, in 2017, Morena Baccarin took her relationship from fiction to reality by saying "I do" to actor Benjamin McKenzie in Brooklyn, New York.

Parents of two

By September 2015, Baccarin had announced she was pregnant with her second child, and the father was none other than McKenzie. Their daughter, Frances Laiz Setta Schenkkan, was born in March 2016, and exactly five years later, in March 2021, the couple welcomed their second child, Arthur.

The main series of the last few years

Following 'Gotham,' new series would come her way, among which 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' (2019), the Brazilian 'Sessão de Terapia' (2019-2021), and 'Home Invasion' (2021) stand out.

Her biggest movies lately

As for movies, we've recently seen her in 'The Good House' (2021) alongside Sigourney Weaver and Kevin Kline; starring in 'Last Looks' (2021) with Mel Gibson and Charlie Hunnam; with Gerard Butler also as a lead in 'Greenland' (2020); or in 'Ode to Joy,' sharing the screen with Martin Freeman.

A social media star

Meanwhile, you can also follow her on Instagram (@morenabaccarin), where she boasts a community of no less than 3.3 million followers, sharing all her news and big moments, both personal and professional.

Her present and very, very bright future

All these roles that have been solidifying her career, added to the newly released like 'The Endgame' or 'Fast Charlie', and the many more to come, especially that third installment of 'Deadpool', give us a glimpse of the present and future ahead for Morena Baccarin. Put on shades, because that loooks like a very bright future.
